After PSG’s victory at Châteauroux on Saturday evening (3-1), the Ligue 1 clubs continued the 1/32nd finals of French Cup, this Sunday. Olympique de Marseille then faced Hyères, resident of National 2, at the Francis-Turcan stadium in Martigues. Revamped with the presence of Blanco, Kaboré or even Dieng’s first start of the season, the Phocaeans should not miss out and reach the next round. But as the pace dropped, Dieng was served perfectly by Guendouzi to score the break goal (2-0, 70th). OM were not perfect, but reached the next round.
OL are not better
The other Olympique, at home, had to rely on the Coupe de France to save its catastrophic season. Blanc gave his incumbents a breather and lined up Barcola and Dembélé at the forefront, with Tetê. In clear domination, OL had to wait until the second half to open the scoring, after a superb recovery from Barcola (1-0, 60th). But only a few minutes later, Jallow controlled and linked up a powerful shot into the top corner of Lopes, with the help of the post. A jewel (1-1, 64th). But finally, the Lyonnais obtained their qualification thanks to a fine header from Lukeba… deflected into his own goal by Candé (2-1, 77th). A difficult qualification for Les Gones.
In the other afternoon matches, qualification was also complicated for RC Lens. Opposed to the Parisians of Linas-Montlhéry (N3), the Lensois struggled, but a goal from Fofana (1-0, 72nd) and Sotoca (2-0, 77th) ensured qualification in the 1/16th finals . Similar scenario for Stade Brestois 29, qualified in the last moments thanks to a goal from Lees-Melou (1-0, 74th) against Avranches (N1). Before Camblan ensured the qualification (2-0, 90th + 3). Finally, little Poucet Strasbourg Koenigshoffen (R1) achieved the feat by winning on penalties against Clermont !
