The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, as part of a working visit to the Zhetysu region, got acquainted with the progress of the construction of the Taldykorgan-Usharal gas pipeline, which is being implemented on behalf of the head of state, Zakon.kz reports.
The total length of the Taldykorgan-Usharal gas pipeline is 302.4 km.
The project provides for the construction of six gas pipeline branches and automatic gas distribution stations. integrated gas pipeline at Almaty “Taldykorgan, construction and launch are planned to be completed by the end of 2026,” the government press service said.
The main new gas pipeline Taldykorgan – Usharal will supply natural gas to 66 settlements in Aksu, Sarkan and Alakol regions, where 124 thousand inhabitants live. When the construction and connection are completed, the gasification rate in the sector will increase from 47.6 to 90%.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the new gas pipeline will ensure energy security and stable gas supply to residential buildings, social facilities and business enterprises in the area. This contributes to the sustainable development of the area and improves the quality of life. An additional positive effect will be in the form of increased business activity, the development of small and medium enterprises with the creation of new jobs.
In general, in Zhetysu region, out of 358 settlements, 192 are subject to gassing, 37 settlements were gassed, 334 thousand people (47.6%) have access to gas. In total, at the end of 2023, the gasification rate of the country’s population was 60% (12 million people have access to gas).

He announced the need to build a gas pipeline on the Taldykorgan – Usharal route, which will allow gas to be supplied to Aksu, Sarkand, Alakol regions, where 180 thousand people live.
