Olympique de Marseille faces Lille this Saturday as part of the 11th day of Ligue 1.
OM and LOSC are battling this Saturday for the eleventh day of Ligue 1. Marseille returns to the pitch after the incidents which led to the postponement of Olympico last weekend. Before the clash, Marseille coach Gennaro Gattuso had strong words towards his Lille counterpart, Paulo Fonseca.
Gattuso cut Fonseca
Gattuso and Fonseca have already crossed paths before in Serie A. The first was then the coach of Naples and the second, Roma. Before their reunion this Saturday, Gattuso paid tribute to his compatriot. « It’s going to be a very difficult match for us, they’re a team that knows what to do when they have the ball, they’re well organized and coached by a great coach. Gennaro Gattuso is literally seduced by Fonseca and his character. “It is difficult to find a coach who never loses his cool, he is a gentleman who has a great knowledge of this sport. That’s why he plays great football. I have great respect, I will go see him before the match,” added the Marseille coach. At a press conference this week, Paulo Fonseca also had kind words towards Gattuso. “He needs time, but Gattuso’s teams are very intense, very dynamic, aggressive. He creates a lot of dynamism in the offensive phases. It’s difficult to play against Gattuso’s teams,” said the Lille coach.
