Olympique de Marseille and Ivorian Ministry of Tourism Announce Strategic Partnership for Next Three Seasons

“Olympique de Marseille and the Ivorian Ministry of Tourism are proud to announce a unique partnership between the Marseille club and “Sublime Côte d’Ivoire” for the next three seasons”, reports an information note sent to Fratmat.info , this Friday, August 11, 2023.

This partnership, reveals this note, proceeds from a long process between the two parties which resulted in a partnership recorded by the Ivorian Minister of Tourism, Siandou Fofana and the President of OM Pablo Longoria. And this, thanks to a mission on the banks of the Canebière.

Scheduled to be held on August 2, 2023 as a prelude to the friendly match Olympique de Marseille Vs Bayer Leverkusen, the official ceremony could not be held due to the death of the former President of Côte d’Ivoire, Henri Konan Bédié. It will finally be held at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille in September 2023.

“For decades, Olympique de Marseille has maintained very strong relations with Africa in general and Côte d’Ivoire in particular. It is therefore a source of great pride for the whole club to further strengthen our ties with Côte d’Ivoire and to contribute, through this partnership, to the influence of this formidable country”, declared Pablo Longoria, President of Olympique de Marseille.

For his part, Siandou Fofana, Minister of Tourism of Côte d’Ivoire said that Côte d’Ivoire is a nation passionate about football. “This sport, which succeeds in uniting and thrilling the whole world, is an invaluable opportunity to convey messages. Associating the image of our ”Sublime, Côte d’Ivoire” with that of OM is a strategic collaboration but above all an unparalleled opportunity which will certainly have a positive effect on the overall perception and tourism of our country.” , he argued.

”Sublime, Côte d’Ivoire” is also the national tourism development strategy. The aim is to make Côte d’Ivoire one of the five main destinations in Africa. Olympique de Marseille and the Ministry of Tourism of Côte d’Ivoire, accompanied by its agency “More by Entourage”, announced that this collaboration aims to promote Côte d’Ivoire, host country of the African Cup of Nations 2024, can we read in the note.

This is the place to emphasize that Olympique de Marseille maintains links with the country, in particular many Ivorian legends and a large community of supporters throughout the territory, from Abidjan to Yamoussoukro.

OM will thus rely on this historic connection and on the strengths of its digital community of more than 20 million subscribers. And this, to participate in the development of the program and the influence of the country. As part of this partnership, a match at the Orange Vélodrome will be dedicated in particular to promoting Côte d’Ivoire and its wealth and culture. The “Sublime Côte d’Ivoire” logo will appear on the shorts of the men’s professional team in the championship as well as on the back of the training clothes.
