An alert has been sounded in Paris by meteofrance, in the middle of the Olympic Games, as storms are expected to fall this evening.
The warning heightens concerns about some sports taking place on the Seine, such as the men’s triathlon which was postponed today because of the polluted waters.
According to France’s meteorological service, 20 to 40mm of rain is expected to fall in less than an hour, along with hail, lightning and gale-force winds, which will be localized.
The orange alert concerns today, Tuesday, July 30, 56 apartments in Paris and tomorrow, Wednesday, 45 apartments.

The men’s triathlon did not happen
The men’s triathlon at the Olympics was postponed as tests carried out on the waters of the Seine “revealed water quality levels that do not provide sufficient guarantees to allow the race to take place”.
The match was originally scheduled to take place at 8am. local time on Tuesday and rescheduled to take place tomorrow Wednesday 7/31 at 10:45 AM. after the completion of the Women’s Triathlon event, provided that the controls meet established World Triathlon limits for swimming.
“Unfortunately, weather events beyond our control, such as the rain that fell over Paris on July 26 and 27, can alter water quality and force us to postpone the race for health reasons,” Olympic officials said.
