Olympics Great success! The dancing pair of Taschler siblings qualified for the Olympics

The dancing couple Natálie and Filip Taschler in Oberstdorf won a place at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. For the first time in its independent history, the Czechia will have all figure skating categories occupied at the Olympics. During the additional qualification for the Nebelhorn Trophy, the Taschlers did not maintain the second place after the rhythmic dance and dropped to the fifth position, but took the last fourth place in the reduced order. The German couple, who finished second, did not seek a place at the Olympics.

The young Czech dancers in free dance did not repeat the performance from the Lombardia Trophy in Bergamo, where they set a new personal record with a gain of 104.29 points two weeks ago. This time they gained 1.82 points less. My partner made a mistake during one of the solo turns and after the ride she slammed her palm into the forehead.

They waited very tensely for a long time for signs. When they appeared in the fourth position, which meant certainty of progress, they mingled joy with relief. Although they officially went to the Olympic venue for the state, the Czechia has no other high-quality senior dance couple, and in addition, the association is pushing the principle that competitors who have secured a quota go to the Olympic Games.

The Taschlers, who won the traditional race in Oberstdorf last year, lagged behind the Germans Katharina Müller and Tim Dieck by 76 hundredths in a balanced race. They were a long way behind them, six Hungarians lost over twelve points to them.

Thanks to that, they joined Michal Březin, Eliška Březinová and the sports duo Jelizaveta Žuková, Martin Bidař, who qualified for the world championships. All four categories had domestic figure skating at the Olympics for the last time in Albertville in 1992, still in the colors of common Czechoslovakia.
