“Olympic” participates in the “General Assembly of the Asian Council”

The National Olympic Committee participated in the 41st General Assembly of the Asian Olympic Council, hosted by Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, with the presence and following of 44 Asian Olympic Committees.
The committee was represented at the meeting by Eng. Azza bint Suleiman, Deputy Secretary General for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the National Olympic Committee.
The General Assembly of the Asian Olympic Council began with a speech delivered by Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, to the public on video, and the interim President of the Asian Olympic Council Raja Randhir Singh and President of the Olympic Committee of Asia Cambodia Thong Khun gave two welcome speeches, as well as a speech by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, who attended the opening of the General Assembly.
The General Assembly meeting witnessed the signing of an agreement to host the city of Trogina in Saudi Arabia’s Neom region for the 2029 Asian Winter Games.
The organizing committees for the next four Asian Games in Hangzhou 2023, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, Doha 2030 and Riyadh 2034 have reviewed reports on their latest preparations to host, as well as a report for the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Thailand 2023 and the Games Asian indoor and martial arts in Riyadh in 2025.
The Olympic Solidarity Committee of the International Olympic Committee and the Federation of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) also provided details on the latest work and various developments.
The General Assembly meeting witnessed the announcement by the Asian Olympic Council that the Fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has won the hosting of the Asian Winter Games (Trogena 2029) in NEOM, becoming the first country in Asia westerner to organize the winter event.
The meeting also saw the approval of the 41st General Assembly of the Asian Olympic Council to designate Riyadh as the new regional center for the Asian Olympic Council.
