Olympic Games: Gianmarco Tamberi released from hospital – He will “defend” the gold medal in the high jump – 2024-08-11 10:43:07

Gianmarco Tamberi was unlucky just before the final of the high jump at the 2024 Olympic Games, after a last-minute health problem sent him to the hospital, making it difficult to “defend” the gold medal he won at the previous Tokyo Olympics.

The heavy favorite for the top spot at the 2024 Olympics as well, Gianmarco Tamberi looked set to sit out the high jump due to a kidney colic, but eventually signed up.

In his original post, he appeared… devastated by his problem and wrote: “It’s been 10 hours and the renal colic still hasn’t subsided. The pain I’ve been feeling since morning, as strong as it is, doesn’t compare to what I feel mentally. My last hope is fading. He just rushed me to the emergency room after I vomited blood twice.

I’m going to get tested to see what’s wrong with me. I’ll keep you posted, because I’m getting a lot of messages and I appreciate the love you’re showing me. The least you deserve is an answer. In other words, everything I dreamed about for this day, beyond this nightmare.”

But a new post followed a little later, in which he emphasized that “I will be there!”, making it known that he was released from the Paris hospital.

Tamberi is one of the most popular athletes in track and field and all the “lights” will now be on him at the Paris Olympics.
