Djokovic, who has won a record 24 Grand Slam tournaments, is currently one win away from the only major trophy he has yet to win – an Olympic gold medal. His only other achievement is a bronze from Beijing 2008.

Alcaraz, 21, is the youngest semifinalist and finalist at the Games since 2008. Djokovic, then just a few days younger, was among the top four in Beijing.

Sunday’s Olympic singles final is a rematch of the Wimbledon final from three weeks ago, in which the Spaniard defeated the Serb 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) to defend his title.
