The Norwegians triumphed with a lead of 0.9 s over the defenders of gold by the French, bronze belongs to the athletes of the Russian Olympic Committee (+1.5). The Slovak relay consisting of Ivona Fialková, Paulína Fialková, Michal Šima, Tomáš Sklenárik overtook the lap on the third section and subsequently withdrew it from the track. With nine penalties, she was ranked 17th.

The Slovak relay thus fell to the last 20th place with a loss of 1: 50: 2 minutes to the leading Italy. Lisa Vitozzi remained in the lead even after the stand half a second ahead of Röiseland. Ivona Fialková had to recharge three times and left the shooting range in 19th place.
At the end of the first section, Röiseland stepped up the pace and passed it to Eckhoff with a lead of 16.7 s. But Eckhoff was worried on the couch. She missed three targets in a row, did not escape the penalty circuit and the Italians returned to the lead with Dorothea Wierer.
After the unsuccessful handstand, Eckhoff had to run two more penalty circuits. Thanks to clean shooting, Simon pulled the French relay to second place and overtook Wierer before the handover. Paulína Fialková moved the Slovak relay to 17th place.

Thanks to Jacquelin’s high-quality running performance, the French increased their lead at the beginning of the third section. However, the second man in the overall World Cup standings at the shooting range and the gold defenders dropped to fourth place.
The relay of the Russian Olympic Committee took the lead. After three penalty circuits, Šimu was withdrawn from the track by the Slovak four, so Sklenárik still has to wait for the Olympic premiere.
In the fourth section, the French and finisher Fillon Maillet and the Norwegians and Johannes Thingnes Bö returned to the battle for gold. Bö had to recharge on the final stand and lost almost 10 seconds to Latypov, but he managed to eliminate the shortfall and thanks to a great start in the finish line he secured the second Olympic gold in the mixed relay for his country.
TASR recalls that the mix premiered under five circles in 2014 in Sochi, Slovakia, consisting of Jana Gereková, Anastasia Kuzminová, Pavol Hurajt and Matej Kazár, originally took 6th place, but after the subsequent disqualification of the fourth Germany, it moved up one place. In addition, in 2017, they originally disqualified the fifth fifth Russia. Paulína Fialková, Kuzminová, Kazár and Martin Otčenáš did not finish the race in Pyongyang four years later.
