By way of comparison, the French were more likely to follow the Olympics than the Euro (15.7 million) or the Tour de France (14.3 million) in July. A difference which can be explained in particular by the fact that the France team of Didier Deschamps was no longer in contention in the competition, their elimination having taken place on June 28.

Two disciplines where the French athletes shone with several medals including two gold for each of them. Team sports, which have seen the French perform well, are also among the good students with more than 7 million viewers for handball and basketball.
