Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan keep shining in Tokyo Olympics. In the second match of Group D, The Daddies were able to beat the Malaysian pair, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik.
Duet senior Hendra/Ahsan against Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik from Malaysia on Monday (25/7) at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza. This is Hendra/Ahsan’s second match in the group stage, previously beating Jason Ho-Shue/Nyl Yakura of Canada.
Aaron/Soh also achieved maximum results after defeating Choi Sol-gyu/Seo Seung-jae from South Korea.
Hendra/Ahsan were able to excel in the first game, they won 21-16 and won 21-19 in the second game after a tight match that was left behind.
In the first gym, Hendra/Ahsan leading by 11-7 at the interval. But after that the Malaysian pair were immediately able to make the score equal to 13-13 and the match got hotter.
However, Hendra / Ahsan were able to maintain the lead and closed the win in the first game with a score of 21-16 for 20 minutes.

In the second game, the match was fierce from the start. Aaron/Soh continued to keep the distance when Hendra/Ahsan had a one point advantage.
In fact, the Malaysian pair was able to win 8-4 with Aaron who gave a smash that Hendra Setiawan could not stop. Aaron/Soh was able to close the interval with an advantage of 11-6.
Hendra/Ahsan did not give up. Several times their fast game was able to close the distance to 10-11. The next two Aaron/Soh mistakes actually benefited Hendra/Ahsan by making the position 12-12.
The long rally became a momentum for The Daddies, Hendra Setiawan’s hard smash put Indonesia ahead 14-12.
Aaron/Soh were able to get close by two points, but Mohammad Ahsan delivered a measured smash that Soh Wooi couldn’t return and kept the distance 20-17.
Finally, Hendra/Ahsan won with a 21-19 lead after Aaron’s shot out. Hendra/Ahsan were able to pack two wins even though they were ticketed to the quarterfinals Tokyo 2020 Olympics still to be decided in the last match of this group with The Daddies going up against representatives from Korea Choi/Seo.
