The American Emily Infeld (33) has participated in the Olympics and among other things took bronze in the 10,000 meters in Beijing in 2015.

In the summer of 2018, the nightmare began for the long-distance runner. A man named Craig Donnelly began stalking her and the nightmare lasted for three years.

Although the parties had never met, Donnelly moved into an apartment less than two miles from Infeld in Portland, Oregon. He also allegedly threatened to kill her in a LinkedIn message.

In November 2021, it was decided that Donnelly was not fit to stand trial and he was instead committed to a mental hospital.

Admits: – Quite tough

This month, he was sentenced to three years of supervision, which means he must receive necessary health care, take medication to help with his mental health and is not allowed to contact Infeld or her family. It writes ESPN.

– I feel much better now that I live in another state and that he doesn’t have my new address, says Infeld.

– I really hope that the monitoring and the medication ensure that he does not threaten or harm anyone else, she says further.

Donnelly is said to have suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2016, which, according to friends and acquaintances, should have caused him to change his behaviour.
