Olympiakos – Pope Abou Cissé and Ousseynou Ba crowned champions of Greece but …

Olympiakos mathematically ensured its title of champion of Greece this Sunday by beating AEK Athens (2-1). However, a CAS decision could also oblige it to make additional efforts.

Olympiakos won their 45th title of champion of Greece on Sunday, the first in three years, after winning on the field of AEK Athens (2-1). The Piraeus club is indeed 19 points ahead of PAOK Thessaloniki – winner of its derby against Aris (2-0) – with six days to go.

However, before opening the champagne, the Olympiakos must await the decision of the Arbitral Tribunal for Sport (CAS), expected next month, concerning the withdrawal of seven points from the PAOK.

Youssef El Arabi, former scorer of Caen, opened the scoring (38th) to further increase his lead at the top of the scorer ranking (20 goals), before a new achievement by former AC player Ajaccio Mady Camara (45th ). AEK and Olympiakos will meet again next month in the Greek Cup final.
