Despite the suffocating pressure exerted by Olympiacos, they were unable to break the wall of Panaitolikos (0-0) who got a point for the first time against Piraeus in N. Faliro, in the 4th matchday of the Super League.
In the first half, Olympiacos had the universal superiority but could not create clear scoring opportunities beyond some shots by Stamenic, Velde and Ese. On the contrary, the very well-organized defensively Panaitolikos seriously threatened in three counter-attacks. Twice the shots of the unmarked player in the Mavria area went wide, while a close header by Bouzoukis had the same result.
In the second half, Olympiacos improved its performance and in the 56th minute, El Kaabi scored but Mladen saved on the line. In the 60th minute, Medilibar made a quadruple change to freshen up his team, adding newcomers Willian and Oliveira to the match. But again the Piraeus could not break the defense of the fighting Panaitolikos.
The hosts began to threaten well in stoppage time. First with a header by El Kaabi, then with a shot out by Martins but the 0-0 remained until the end.
Vergetis showed yellow cards to Liavas.
