Olympiacos suffered a 3-4 defeat in a friendly match against V. Marinakis’ other team, Nottingham.
For the first time in the new season, Olympiacos appeared in its first home friendly wearing the jersey with the anniversary emblem of the club’s 100 years of life. At the same time, in “G. Karaiskakis” the trophies of the UEFA Europa Conference League and the UEFA Youth League won last year by the “red and whites” were presented before the match. Before the cross, V. Marinakis spoke to the people who were on the field and said:

In the competitive part, Olympiacos had problems both defensively, where they conceded three goals in three set phases, and creatively. At 16′, Yates opened the scoring for Nottingham with a header. The Piraeus team increased their performance and in the 24th minute they equalized with an amazing energy and shot by Zelson. In the 43rd minute, after an incorrect save by Tzolakis, Wood made it 1-2 with a shot into an empty net.
In the second half, Nottingham scored a 3rd goal again with Yates’ header in the 62nd minute. The defensive gaps of the “red and whites” were huge and in the 68th minute, Elanga made the 1-4 with an amazing individual effort.
Olympiacos, with the entry into the match of Rodinei, Ortega, Velde and Yaremchuk, rose significantly and managed to reduce in the 78th minute with Zelson after Velde’s shot on the post. And in the 89th, Velde reduced the score to 3-4 with impressive energy and a shot, while in the 91st, Yaremchuk missed a great opportunity to equalize.
