A milestone date is March 10, 1925 for him Olympic. It was then that some men who had visions of establishing a sports association, finally realized their idea and created a club that was to grow into one of the largest sports organizations in the country. And today, March 10, 2024, this club celebrates its 99th birthday…
Olympiacos came from the merger of the Piraeus Association and the Piraeus Union, unions that had been founded at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Godfather of the club is its first vice-president, Notis Kaberos. Michalis Manouskos (first president) added the “Piraeus Fans’ Association” and the title was voted unanimously, as was the team’s emblem the laurel-crowned teenager, inspired by the Ancient Olympic Games. The first seat of Olympiakos was the Cycling Stadium, which was a stadium with coal dust.

The colors of the club were chosen by Giannis Andrianopoulos (who also designed the first jersey) and were red, the color of bravery and passion, and white, that of purity.
The Statute of the new association defined as the goal “the development of physical education despite the youth” and defined the means of achieving it as follows:
a) The establishment of sports venues of all kinds.
b) The organization of all sports activities at sea
c) The organization of sports competitions of all kinds, holidays, excursions, mountain climbing, etc.
d) The propaganda of the sports idea through lectures and publication of forms and
e) The development of a youth service movement in every way.
As far as the members of Olympiakos are concerned, the Statute provided that “citizens, regardless of nationality or caste, who are good people, inspired by healthy physical education principles, may register”.
Michalis Manouskos was elected as the first president and the first Board of Directors of Olympiakos was formed as follows:
President: Michalis Manouskos
Vice-presidents: Notis Kaberos, Triantafyllos Kremos
Secretary General: Stavros Maragoudakis
Treasurer: Othon Kokkinos
Superintendent: Panagiotis Lagoumitzis
Members: Kostas Kyrimis, Nikos Zacharias, Yiannis Louloudakis, Dimitris Sklias, E. Kasimatis
The founding members were: Vasilis Andrianopoulos, Yannis Andrianopoulos, George Andrianopoulos, Dinos Andrianopoulos, Dimitris Andronikos, Nikos Andronikos, Dimitris Avdis, Nikos Vlassis, Stefanos Emmanuel, Nikos Zacharias, Thanasis Kallitsis, Nikos Kaloudis, Dinos Kaloudis, Notis Kamperos, Kotis in Kleidouhakis . Simigdalas, Christos Tzoumerikiotis, Brasidas Trouposkiadis and Spyros Psallidas.
Initially, Olympiacos consisted of 100 members, the famous 100 “immortals” from whom the club’s first statute was drawn up. Immortals were life members and in order for a new member to join the club an old one would have to die.
Along the way, the club grew and today, 99 years later, it has 20 amateur divisions of all sports, hundreds of trophies, 19 international titles and millions of fans…
