OLV Aalst asks people to visit the dentist every year to detect head and neck cancers early

The Onze-Lieve-Vrouw hospital in Aalst asks people to have an annual check-up at the dentist. Not so much for the health of our teeth, but to detect head and neck cancer at an early stage. The Aalst hospital treats dozens of patients with tumors in the neck and head every year. And some of them are discovered at the dentist. This week the Make Sense Campaign is running in Europe. This is an awareness campaign to detect these types of cancers more quickly.
