Victor Olofsson is already an effective player for the Buffalo Sabers. But the Swede wants to develop to help the team even more.

Olofsson has played eight games for his Sabers this season and accounted for five goals and four assists. He has thus continued to be a player the Sabers can count on offensively. The 2021-22 season is his fourth in the NHL, although the first consisted of only six games. In 124 matches in his career so far, Olofsson has accounted for 40 goals and 47 assists.

– I feel more confident. It feels like I create more five-on-five, not only for myself but also for my teammates, says Olofsson.
The Sabers have been one of the league’s positive surprises this season. The team, which has not reached the playoffs since 2010-11, has the score line 5-2-1 after eight matches and unlike previous years, the team has often won close matches that stood and weighed.
– We have good self-confidence in the team now. We do not panic in crucial situations and it feels like we create a lot, says Olofsson.

Olofsson has during the season got a good chemistry with his Swedish teammate Rasmus Asplund. The duo have played together in North America and Buffalo’s organization for three years and built a strong chemistry and friendship. Asplund made his NHL debut in the 2019-20 season when he played 29 games for the Sabers. Last season, he played in 28 of 56 regular season games. This year, he has so far accounted for four goals and two assists.
– We know each other very well out there. We played a whole season together in the AHL. We have very good chemistry and know where we have each other on the ice. We think hockey the same way and want to play the same way. It’s very easy to play with him. He has been phenomenal for us this year, says Olofsson about Asplund.
