Olivier Véran warns against a risk of “wave from the end of July”

The Minister of Health spoke on Twitter about vaccination and the Delta variant, which brings up contaminations in the territory.

He had warned that the Delta variant could come and spoil the French summer. This Sunday evening, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran continued his warning messages about the mutation of the virus, affirming that for five days, contaminations have not decreased, but have increased again:

Vaccination massive

Blame it on a more contagious Delta variant, which leaves the fear of a fourth wave “from the end of July”, according to Olivier Véran. But the minister warns, with massive vaccination of the population and respect for barrier gestures, it is still possible to limit the impacts.

The vaccine effectively lowers the risks of serious forms of the virus, “including on the Delta variant” as Olivier Véran notes. The issue of compulsory vaccination, especially for caregivers, is therefore on everyone’s lips. To the point that the Minister of Health even launches a challenge to the French: to achieve collective immunity as quickly as possible, thanks to injections.

He also recalled that last week, 4.1 million French people were vaccinated, including 1.2 million for a first injection. A “record” which is not yet enough according to him, in the “race against time” represented by the fight against the virus.
