The Minister Delegate for French People Abroad, Olivier Becht, is visiting the United States, from Sunday December 10 to Friday December 15, 2023. A visit which aims to “continue to enrich bilateral ties with the United States, a friendly country and France’s first ally, in a context where commercial ties are more than ever a key lever for deepening bilateral diplomatic relations.

The Minister Delegate in charge of foreign trade, attractiveness and French people abroad, Olivier Becht, will visit Boston, Washington DC, New York, Austin, and Houston, from Sunday December 10 to Friday December 15, 2023.

A visit under the sign of Franco-American trade

Olivier Becht’s visit has the stated objective of continuing to enrich bilateral ties with the United States, a friendly country and first ally of France, in a context where commercial ties are more than ever a key lever of deepening of bilateral diplomatic relations. It is in this context that he will meet with Don Graves, Assistant Secretary of Commerce of the United States, Katherine Tai, Representative of the United States for Foreign Trade, as well as with members of the Senate and the House of Representatives. American representatives. The continuation of bilateral dialogue on key issues in the commercial relationship with the United States, such as the Inflation Reduction Act, transatlantic cooperation and the resolution of commercial disputes, will also be on the agenda.

The Minister Delegate will also meet with major American investors on the East Coast in order to encourage them to come and establish themselves in France, always with a desire to maintain France at the head of destinations for foreign investors in Europe, and to keep American investors first in the ranking of foreign investors in France. He will also meet on several occasions with young professionals and students, with the aim of attracting more international talent to France.
