“Olivia Newton-John passed away this morning alone at her ranch in Southern California. She was surrounded by friends and family,” it wrote.

The singer struggled with breast cancer several times, she underwent the first operation in 1992. She was involved in promoting the prevention of this disease and created a foundation. “Olivia has been a symbol of triumph and hope for the past 30 years as she shared her fight against breast cancer with the world,” we read in the family’s social media memories.

Newton-John was born in Great Britain in 1948 but raised in Australia. She recorded her first single at the age of 18, but has previously appeared on Australian TV shows, among others.

She later moved to the US, where she had her own TV show on the ABC network. She has appeared in many musicals, including “Xanadu”, but her role in “Grease”, in which she starred with John Travolta, brought her most fame.
