Olivia Llorca Appointed as General Director of HiperDino, Leading Food Chain in the Canary Islands

HiperDino has appointed Olivia Llorca, until now commercial and operations director, as general director of the chain. This is a newly created position in the company, reporting directly to its CEO, Javier Pugaand has the firm support of the president of HiperDino, José Abraham Domínguezand his vice president, Andres Dominguez.

Olivia Llorca will be in charge of coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations of the company together with her management team and with the support of the board of directors. It takes on the challenge of continuing to be the leading food chain in the Canary Islands, facing the changing challenges of the sector, such as the evolution of consumer preferences and growing competition.

Since her arrival at HiperDino in 2005, Olivia Llorca has held key roles in the company, as Director of Marketing and Communication, as well as Human Resources and, since 2020, as Commercial and Operations Director, thus consolidating his experience and leadership in various areas of the organization.

Alvaro Fernandezuntil now deputy director of the commercial and operations department, becomes the new director, after joining the chain at the beginning of 2023.

The new Commercial and Operations Director has extensive experience in the food sector since 1994, after serving as head of the Own Brands Area in Continente; Food Director at Carrefour; Commercial, Marketing and Digitalization Director at Alimerka, and Commercial Director at Cash Diplo.

HiperDino is the leading chain in the food sector in the Archipelago and the only 100% Canarian regional chain. Currently, it has 243 stores and works with more than 13,000 references, of which 40% correspond to local suppliers.

In addition, it is the leading company in creating jobs with more than 9,000 workers.

In 2022, the chain generated 2.50% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Canary Islands, and the impact it had on employment represented 3.02% of the employed population of the Archipelago.

Present in five of the eight Canary Islands, it reaches seven of them through the online store hiperdino.es. This channel, created in 2015, has all the products from its physical stores and, among the advantages it provides, the customer receives the purchase the day after having made it.

Likewise, it has two exclusive preparation centers for online purchases and 34 DinoShop stores on a franchise basis.

Committed to sustainable development, it contemplates three fundamental axes of action: society and Canarian families; commercialization of sustainable products and services, and environmental management and fight against climate change.

Through the DinoSol Foundation, it collaborates in solidarity with various actions supporting the social and cultural development of the Canary Islands, and pays special attention to the people who are part of HiperDino.
