Oliveros: PDVSA’s structure to avoid sanctions is inefficient

Asdrúbal Oliveros, economist and partner-director of Ecoanalítica, highlighted that, despite the fact that the administration of Nicolás Maduro created a structure to avoid sanctions, this has been very inefficient.

In this sense, Oliveros in the Éxitos Circuit indicated that the high levels of accounts receivable that PDVSA has speak of deficient financial management with very serious problems of opacity and accountability.

“The key point is that it be investigated, in this matter the sanctions weigh heavily, PDVSA stopped using the formal financial system and that is why they use the current channels,” he added.

However, he assured that the non-transparent management of PDVSA comes before the sanctions.

The economist warned that these disappeared resources are those necessary to build hospitals and cover the needs of the Venezuelan.

He explained that everything that happens with PDVSA represents damage to the country, insisting on the lack of transparency and control in the management of the company.

«25 thousand were sold and only 4 thousand could be taken into account. Imagine the level of loss or uncontrolled resources, this speaks of very inefficient management,” she said.

Likewise, he recalled that there was an increase for intervention dollars in recent weeks, highlighting that there is a greater cash flow from the Venezuelan State due to the relaxation of the agreements with Chevron.

The economist points out that this is felt in the Venezuelan banks with a greater availability of foreign currency.

“These resources from the oil industry are being channeled into a formal mechanism, in this case the exchange market, and you know where and where these resources are going,” he stressed.
