Frankfurt am Main (SID) – Rowing World Champion Oliver Zeidler has made a successful start to the World Cup season.
The 26-year-old from Frankfurt’s RG Germania won his final run in Zagreb in the absence of many major singles competitors, more than a boat length ahead of the Danes Sverri Nielsen and Nikolaj Pimenov (Serbia).
Zeidler was the only German to use the competition in Croatia for a first international assessment.
The highlights of the season for the rowers are the European Championships in Bled from May 26th to 28th and the World Championships from September 3rd to 10th in Belgrade, where the first nine in the one-piece get their ticket for the Olympic Games in Paris.
