Oliver Naesen the day after the fall: “I feel 1,000,000 times better than yesterday” | BinckBank Tour

Oliver Naesen was one of the victims of the massive crash in the opening stage of the BinckBank Tour yesterday.

The former Belgian champion could no longer use his right leg to kick to the finish.

His knee was hit hard, but a day later Naesen sounds hopeful and optimistic.

“My bones and ligaments are all intact,” a relieved Naesen told our editorial team.

“Today I was able to loose for 2 hours. I still feel a bit stiff and it was uncomfortable, but I feel 1,000,000 times better than yesterday.”

Today Naesen gets a day of rest due to the canceled time trial, the remaining stages would not be compromised.
