Oliver Kahn has caused a media stir in recent days. Reason: The 54-year-old posted several pictures with superstars like Ronaldo and Neymar on X (formerly Twitter) and was heavily criticized for his high-profile visit to Saudi Arabia.
According to current reports, Kahn was not in Saudi Arabia by chance. As the newspaper “Asharq Al-Awsat” reports, the former Bayern boss could soon take on a new job in the Saudi Pro League.
Kahn: “Everything is possible in life”
According to the newspaper, Kahn has an offer from the top Saudi club Al-Hilal that is ready to be signed. Accordingly, Kahn should become the new club boss.
The club spent more than 350 million euros on new players in the past transfer window. The most prominent newcomer is Brazil star Neymar, who moved from Paris to Saudi Arabia for almost 90 million euros.
Kahn himself did not rule out a move to Saudi Arabia: “Everything is possible in life,” he said in an interview with the Saudi TV station “Kora Rotana”.
He also made it clear that he cannot understand the ongoing criticism of the Saudi transfer offensive: “In my opinion, it is always good for football to create competition. Investing in football can never be a bad thing.”
From a purely contractual perspective, a move to Saudi Arabia would be possible without any problems, as Kahn only recently terminated his working relationship with FC Bayern. According to reports, he received a million-dollar severance payment for this.
