The Olimp / Venta 2002 team in the Optibet hockey league on Tuesday (OHL) won the Prizma / IHS, which has not enjoyed the last five games.
“Olimp” / ”Venta 2002” won “Prizma” / IHS at home with 5: 1 (0: 0, 2: 1, 3: 0).
The result of the game was revealed in the 21st minute by Kirill Galoha, who tried his hand at the Polish Championship last season. After only two minutes, Jānis Graudiņš returned the balance to the scoreboard. Less than half a minute later, Valērijs Vorožcovs again nominated “Olimp” / “Venta 2002” as the leader.
In the final 20 minutes, Emīls Ezītis, Nikolajs Jeļisejevs and Tomass Zeile scored another goal.
It has already been reported that last week the Zemgale / LLU team identified two cases of Covid-19, as a result of which Saturday’s game against Mogo / LSPA was canceled.
Also, on Saturday there was no game between the teams of Daugavpils “Dinaburg” and Hockey School “Riga”, because at the end of September in Latgale club several players were diagnosed with Covid-19. For this reason, Daugavpils were forced to skip the next four games, the new timing of which is likely to be known this week.
“Olimp” / ”Venta 2002” is leading the tournament table with 13 points in eight doubles, “Liepāja” is one less, but “Mogo” / LSPA closes the leading three with ten points in eight matches, followed by Zemgale with the same number of points in six dues. ”/ LLU. Last season, eight teams played in the Latvian Super League, but in the 2020/21 season there will be one team less, because “Kurbads” will not play in the tournament.
Last season, the playoffs were not played, but the winner of the local championship was declared “Olimp”. The newcomer to the tournament won the decisive points after “Riga” did not come to the last match of the season with the “Kurbads” team.
With its success, the Olimp earned the OHL the opportunity to compete in the Continental Cup organized by the International Hockey Federation (IIHF), but the international competition was canceled.
