Libreville, Thursday December 14, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – Last Tuesday, the Head of State handed over the keys to the villas to ten families who were squatting at the Mindoubé public dump.
Many have not yet come back. Leave the filthy surroundings of the Mindoubé public dump to enter directly into a villa. Who would’ve believed that ? But the Head of State has just provided brand new houses to ten Gabonese families who until now lived in this unsanitary environment. In a fit of heart, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema himself went to hand over these homes to their beneficiaries. Built in 31 days by the National Real Estate Company, these single-storey villas include three bedrooms each. The icing on the cake is that each family receives an envelope of 15 million F.
Alongside the President of the Republic, the High Commissioner for the Environment, the director of the National Real Estate Company (SNI), officials from the Clean Africa company and the Minister of the Interior took part in this ceremony. rehousing in the Bikele area where these former squatters were resettled. “There is no better offer than that (…) I myself undertake to ask the SNI to pay for a second house instead of giving you a house. You will have the second house with the 15 million CFA francs,” launched the Head of State. “I think that’s fairness,” he stressed.
Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema was outraged by the fact that some of his compatriots live in the middle of a landfill. “It is deplorable to see the Gabonese people living in the landfill. My team and I, the CTRI, insisted on relocating a certain number of Gabonese people, 10 in number, so that they could leave the landfill,” said the President of the Republic.
