In February, a new musical show will be submitted to the audience for evaluation – a fairy tale for grown-ups (actually grown-ups, not adults!) “Olga and Bears”. Its epicenter will be singer Olga Rajecka and Andras Baltača’s group “Baltie lāči”.
The fairy tale will be played for the first time on February 18 at the Ventspils Theater House “Jūras vārti”, followed by a cycle of twelve more events with the conclusion at the Latgale Embassy “Gors” in Rēzekne on April 7.
“When the residents of the musical zoo are completely distracted, a talented trainer is invited, who has proven herself in working with various animals and non-animals. Will the Bears be able to learn to sing and play, or will everything go really smoothly? Everything will end well, because that’s life itself!” Andris Baltacis, the soloist of the group “Baltie lāči”, opens the curtain for the performance. The concerts will include songs from Olga Rajeckas’ and “Laču’s” repertoire, as well as joint songs, as well as new compositions.
“We have had the idea of such a joint concert program for four years. We tried joint music making at Olga’s anniversary concerts, where the audience appreciated the new musical interpretation. In order for our collaboration not to be an ordinary concert, this fairy tale or fable was created,” says Baltacis and adds with a smile that the fairy tale is a benevolent genre, which contains both conflict and resolution, because “in a fairy tale, everything always ends well, no matter how bad the beginning was . We also wanted a little bit of humor, so it is a fairy tale not for children or adults, but for grown-ups who are driven by the desire to learn something new and share their discoveries and joy with others. A fairy tale does not tell, it only teaches!”
