Oleksandr Zinchenko claiming to be ready to leave England to fight in Ukraine when called upon. His speech was sarcastic Serge Aurier.
Russia launched a massive invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Zinchenko was one of the footballers who was vocal about this.
Zinchenko also helped Ukraine by donating £1 million to his homeland. This Arsenal defender intended to join the war at the start of the conflict, but family members persuaded him not to.
Desire Oleksandr Zinchenko fighting against Russia is still burning to this day. The 27-year-old player admitted that he was ready for the front line when he received the country’s call to fight.
“I think that’s the obvious answer. I want to go [berperang],” Zinchenko told BBC Newsnight last week.
“It’s hard to understand that recently we were at the same school, we played on the playground or on the football field, and now they have to defend our country,” he said of friends in his hometown who were involved in the war.
“And to be honest, it is very difficult to accept this, but that is the reality. We must not give up,” Zinchenko said.
Zinchenko’s words received sarcasm from his colleagues, Serge Aurirer. The former Tottenham Hotspur defender believes that Zinchenko is only bragging in the media but is reluctant to directly help Ukraine on the battlefield.
“Zinchenko is ready to fight when he gets a call. Jump in boss and stop your drama, no one wants to call you,” Aurier wrote on Snapchat.
“It’s amazing that you’re still talking about that. You’re really sick. True volunteers don’t need to wait for a call and here you are screaming again,” he quipped.
