Comrades of the soldier say that the deceased was an example for them.
Oleksandr Yushchenko, chief sergeant of the “Charter” brigade, was taken to Lutsk on his last journey. The soldier with the call sign “Kapa” fought in various directions since 2014. During this time, he trained hundreds of fighters. He is one of the founders of the NATO-standard infantry battalion as part of the 4th rapid response brigade of the National Guard, as well as the “Charter” brigade.

The military say that Oleksandr Yushchenko was an example for them
With an outstanding military man who was only 37say goodbye in his native Lutsk.
“We have lost a legend, we have lost the most powerful chief sergeant in our country. He is a man who raised a lot of people,” says the commander of the “Charter” brigade, Colonel of the National Guard Ihor Obolenskyi.
Oleksandr Yushchenko started his military career twenty years ago, when he went to study as a tanker driver. And within a year he became the commander of the department.
“A real warrior. An example of a modern sergeant. For 28 years of his service as the best sergeant I didn’t see it,” says brother Oleg Garmata.
Since 2014, the war is forever in his life.
“He is very demanding of himself and his subordinates. He always is set an example on himself, first he did it, and then his people,” says the soldier’s comrade.
During the war, the soldier visited the hottest spots. During this time, he trained and educated hundreds of fighters. Andriy is among them.
“How much he taught, how much more was to come, how many plans, he is in our hearts as the best, most beloved sergeant,” he says.
The soldiers who were lucky enough to learn from Oleksandr are told that he was a true professionaldemanding of everyone, and first of all – of himself.
“He was the first executor of his orders, he was a real commander,” says military officer Oleksandr.

What do his teachers and classmates remember about the defender of Ukraine
Both classmates and teachers remember Oleksandr’s passion for history since school.
“It was very interesting in class. He could tell, maybe more like a teacher. Because he was very interested. Foreign language, history, he knew exactly who our enemy was,” says classmate Ivanna Prykhodko.
“What a golden boy he was. Really. I’m telling you honestly. Well-mannered, smart,” says history teacher Lyudmila Novosad.
Oleksandr Yushchenko also completed dog training courses. He trained animals for many years. And even during the war, he tried to work with four-legged animals who performed special tasks during the war.
The hero was buried in a cemetery near Lutsk on the Alley of Honorable Burials. A little son was left without a father.
