Oleksandr “Kapa” Yushchenko began his military career back in 2005, having trained as a tanker driver. Within a year, “Kapa” became the commander of the department.
He returned to military affairs in 2014. As part of the Omega special unit, he took part in hostilities in the East of the country. He was awarded a firearm and the Order for Courage of the III degree.
In 2015, he was one of the founders of the formation of the 4th operational brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Rubizh.
“This is the first formation in the history of independent Ukraine that was created in accordance with NATO standards. It had no analogues among other military formations,” the press service emphasized.
