Gazmanov was arrested in absentia due to suspicions of encroaching on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine in accordance with Article 110 of the Criminal Code.
The article provides for up to five years with or without confiscation of property.
In her message, Venediktova used words from Gazmanov’s famous song “Officers”. The Prosecutor General remade it in her own way, leaving the key.
“We in Ukraine believe that officers (they are Russians) are committing crimes in Ukraine today. And yes, we are often on land, and they are often at sea, and we can’t meet in any way – only in court,” Venediktova summed up.
