Good news if you have a Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Watch Active: Samsung is offering a software update for older smartwatches that offers some of the new features already available on the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Watch Active 2.
As reported by TizenHelp, the update is rolling out and brings a number of improvements, which could mean you won’t have to think about upgrading your Samsung smartwatch soon enough.
For starters, incoming messages in apps like WhatsApp can now display images directly on the watches themselves, so you can see at a glance if the photos your friends and relatives send you are worth watching. take out your phone.
Then there’s support for Bitmoji and Samsung’s own AR Emoji right on the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active, giving you more options to add some variety to your instant messaging conversations when words don’t. are simply not enough.

As for the fitness features of these smartwatches, voice guidance via bluetooth is added so that you can hear the distance traveled and your heart rate while running, walking, cycling or any other workout.
There’s now a scrolling screenshot mode on portable devices, if you need it, and Samsung has apparently added a bunch of stability and performance improvements to the Tizen software. The update is said to weigh 292MB.
With the launch of the original Samsung Galaxy Watch in August 2018 and the follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active in March 2019, it is encouraging to see that Samsung is still updating these devices even though new models are now available.
The new models have also received their own updates in recent days: Blood pressure monitoring functionality has just been added to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 via a software update.
