The album, dedicated to the companion of George Michael, who died in 1993, Anselmo Feleppa, as well as to the Brazilian musician Antônio Carlos Jobim, who died a year later, has sold some six million copies worldwide and reached No. 1 in the UK charts when it was released in 1996.
On this date, the vinyl format, replaced by the compact disc (CD), largely disappeared from album releases. For “Older”, as we explained recently in the article “These vinyls which are worth a small fortune”, a very limited quantity of the album is produced on vinyl, causing, lately, a renewed interest of from collectors. As a result, the few copies available in this format of the singer’s third album were trading at the start of the year at around a thousand euros each.
