Ilshofen – The EWE Baskets Oldenburg lost despite a career best performance by Rickey Paulding in the basketball league.
The 38-year-old forward scored an outstanding 36 points at the Hakro Merlins Crailsheim on Saturday evening, but could not prevent the 80:94 (32:39) defeat of his team. It was only in November that Oldenburg legend Paulding became the second player in history to break the 7,000 mark in the BBL.
The Baskets remain on the playoff course with four wins from six games, for Crailsheim it was already the fifth win of the season. Previously, the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg had won their fifth win in 94:80 (48:36) against Fraport Frankfurt. In a balanced Ludwigsburg team, six players scored double-digit points.
The Syntainics MBC Weißenfels achieved their first success of the season at 93:85 (48:37) against BG Göttingen, the Niners Chemnitz remain without a win. The climber was defeated s. Oliver Würzburg at home with 67:76 (31:40).
