First row or last bench?
Preferably the last row, because it was easier to be overlooked and to sleep when it was too boring.
Influencer or Follower?
Neither nor, more like a break clown and instigator when it came to something illegal.
My hobby during the break?
Take a nap in the toilet and my royal. Bavarian Ruah habn.
My greatest hour?
To look into the maths work and find out that the effort is not worth it, because it doesn’t bring anything anyway, and just to go and to turn around with my little VW Beetle in the Lüneburg Heath (“Green is the Heath”).
I would like to forget that:
Whenever someone had done something, having to answer to the director as the main suspect.
A monument is due …
… exactly to this director, because he asked me to give the laudatory speech for the 50th anniversary of the Kurt-Huber-Gymnasium after he had kicked me from school 25 years earlier. Chapeau!
Learning is …
… something I only learned when I was an adult. I haven’t stopped since then because I find it so exciting to get a little bit better every day.
Notes are …
… stressful. I think I would have been a great student without that grade stress because I’ve always failed when I had to prove something. I just have stage fright and then a serious blackout. That’s why I was always awful when I auditioned.
School should …
… do not torment imaginative and creative children with learning material that they cannot cope with and that is irrelevant to their talent. I have never used chemical, physical, or mathematical formulas in my entire life. When I need something, I ask someone who knows. In return I can do a lot of other things, learned a little of them in school.
I have to apologize to …
… nobody from my school days.
Have to apologize to me …
… Ms. Mittermeier, my class teacher in the elementary school in Gauting – if she weren’t long dead. She said to my mother, “Mei Frau Speidel, eahna’s daughter will never become anything in life”. I hope she’s still biting her butt today, wherever she’s stewing that she was wrong.
Everyone has something to say about school. Everyone was there. That is why there is “old school” once a week.
