Surely you have happened to find, rummaging in the cellar or in the attic, old coins and, perhaps, you have thrown them away ignoring their value. If, on the other hand, you have kept them you will be happy to know that some of them are worth a fortune. Obviously, these are rare and mostly unobtainable coins, but it is always worth taking a look: perhaps among your ‘collection’ there is precisely the one that numismatics experts would pay for in gold.

Before revealing which Italian rare coins are worth a fortune, it is good to underline that they must have a fundamental requirement. As they say in the jargon, the lire must be in Fdc, or in Brilliant Uncirculated: no marks, scratches or particular wear are allowed. In this case, in fact, their price would drop significantly. Some coins are worth hundreds of euros, while others can go up to 6 thousand euros. The most desired old Italian lire are:

– 10 lire from 1946: very rare, it can be worth up to 6,000 euros. On the one hand it has an olive tree, while on the other a winged horse. The 10 lire of 1947, on the other hand, can reach up to 4,000 euros;

– 100 lire from 1955: quite common, if they are in good condition you can earn 1,200 euros;

– 5 lire of 1946: first coin minted by the Italian Republic with a value of 5 lire, its value reaches up to 1000 / 1.200 euros;

– 2 lire from 1949: on one side he has an ear of corn, while on the other a man with a plow. It can be worth almost 2,000 euros;

– 2 lire from 1958: on one side it has an olive tree, while on the other a bee. They are among the most widespread Italian rare coins and for this reason they are worth a maximum of 500 euros;

– 5 lire from 1956: very rare, depicting a dolphin. If well kept, they reach 1,800 / 2,000 euros;
