entertainment">The Spider-Man comic book was in near mint condition, according to auction house Heritage Auctions, better than any edition they’ve ever seen. Only three other comics have ever received such a high rating of 9.6 on a scale of ten in terms of item condition.

entertainment">The auction house’s vice president Lon Allen is pleased with the auction. “What other comic book could have helped us break the record better than one of Marvel’s most beloved superheroes, Spider-Man?” he said in a statement. “I am honored to be a part of one of the most significant comic book sales to date. In my 20 years with Heritage, bringing the most expensive book to market has been the pinnacle of my career.”
