The son of the early Christian remains missing since Sunday night, who “shut up” during a meeting with his father, in the presence of a social worker, in Piraeus.
The structure gave an answer to the latest development in the case, where according to its statement it maintains that the meeting of the child with his father took place outside the premises of the structure, while the social worker who had been arrested was released.
The father claims that “The child hit her. It’s a complicated situation, I don’t know if it’s set up. There was a football match over there and he had an army of police. I was in a cafe that a friend of mine had across the stadium and suddenly the child’s companion comes and says “he’s gone, where is he?”. Now all this in a space that also has cameras, that has an escort. I was looking, I was asking the police over there, anyone who can give me information along with the escort.”
“Until the escort threatened me with the prosecutor as if she was blaming me. Well, and I got up and left, I say if he’s messing with me, okay mercy!” completed.
How the 15-year-old disappeared
The 45-year-old former Christian spoke to Ant1, about his 15-year-old son and reported that he escaped from the mental health facility he is housed in.
He wondered how in a structure that was supposed to protect his son he could escape so easily.

As for how the child disappeared, the father explained that “I went to treat them to a souvlaki, the attendant was also there. At some point, the child and the attendant came out. Then it is ignored what happened. I was in a video recording area, there were policemen next to me, they were sitting. It’s not like I had anything to do with the whole thing.”
“I was not responsible for the child. In other words, how could I have instigated it when I didn’t even understand what happened. Isn’t that absurd? Many want to charge me, but let’s see what actually happens. From the beginning of the story, drugs wanted to find me with police dogs, weapons they wanted to charge me, now with the child they want to charge me, okay…” he added.
It should be noted that in the last few days an order was given to transfer the child from the hospital to a social structure in Piraeus.
Based on this order, the 15-year-old could have contact with his father, in the presence of a social worker. So yesterday they went to the place where the appointment with his father had been made and at some point he escaped attention and disappeared.
At the same time, no one knows the whereabouts of Manolis’ wife, Sevasti, with the rest of their children.
The announcement of the structure:
“The Piraeus Youth Hostel of “MITOS AMKE” took over, by virtue of Order No. 31/2024 of the Corinth District Attorney, the temporary custody of a minor, which it exercised with the greatest possible care, attention and supervision, according to the instructions he received (in the context of written correspondence with the prosecutorial authorities involved).
Our structure, according to its license, but also the laws and ministerial decisions, operates as an open-type hostel, that is, the benefiting teenagers are neither confined nor bound, during their stay with us. On the contrary, they enjoy care and concern for the rehabilitation of traumas, which could hinder their socialization and their smooth psycho-emotional development. In the context of our operation and the current legislation, we also ensure the best psychological support for the benefiting teenagers, especially for the prevention of parental alienation phenomena.
Restrictions on their communication with persons from their family environment could only be set following a Court decision/Prosecution order or, by extension, following instructions, in the context of a report received by the Social Service, etc., something that did not occur in the case of the teenager, which we undertook with the No. 31/2024 Ordinance of Corinth.
On 10.03.2024, a meeting of the above beneficiary took place with his father, outside the hostel facilities, after consultation with the latter. An employee of ours was also present at the meeting, although such a thing is not foreseen as mandatory, nor was it defined as a prerequisite or imposed by the Authorities. At the end of this meeting, in the presence of his father, the teenager set it on his feet, in an unknown direction. Our associate tried, in vain, to stop him. We immediately informed the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police and called his father for substantial assistance. Our associate was summoned by the relevant pre-investigative authorities, to A.T. Kaminion, in a statement, which was arrested, controlled for committing the offense of the report, as we were informed. Never in the past have similar incidents of minors running away from hostels, both in Athens and Piraeus, been dealt with in this way [κράτηση προσωπικού ξενώνα/δομής, εκ της φερομένης αξιόποινης συμπεριφοράς τους].
Today, the Prosecutor’s Office of Piraeus, through Ms. Isaggeleos, released the employee of our hostel and ordered a preliminary examination to investigate the commission of criminal acts and the persons truly involved in them.
We believe that the above actions correspond to the current legal framework, the true facts and constitute a manifestation of true sensitivity towards the unjustly victimized employee. For our part, we remain at the disposal of the Authorities and urgently request from the Administration the definition of a necessary framework of pre-defined actions, in order to uniformly deal with corresponding incidents.
