IFK Gothenburg has filled one of two vacant positions. On Sunday, it became clear that Ola Larsson, with a past in BP and Hammarby, will be the new technical director at the club. IFK Göteborg’s coach hunt is still ongoing. There, perhaps Larsson can take help from a former colleague and close friend.
Recently, the Sarpsborg coach Stefan Billborn appeared at Gamla Ullevi. Billborn and Larsson are close friends after working together in BP and Hammarby.
– I talk to him every day. And that has nothing to do with this role. I have done that for the last 20 years, says Larsson after Blåvitt’s 1-1 meeting with IFK Norrköping.
Are you so tight?
– Yes, but it’s not that strange. It’s not love, but it’s not far from it. You also noticed that when you talked to him. I like him very much. Then there are more people than Stefan Billborn that I talk to on a daily basis.
If you are allowed to dream freely, do you want to see Billborn as a coach for IFK Gothenburg?
– As for Stefan Billborn, I really want him to move in with me. Just so we know where we are somewhere, laughs Larsson.
When Billborn was at Gamla Ullevi to see IFK Göteborg-Malmö FF, the former BP and Hammarby coach said that he had not been asked about the coaching job in Blåvitt.
– I feel great in Sarpsborg now. I haven’t had any questions and haven’t even had anyone snoop. I am loyal to my employer, I think you already know that, and before there is anything else, the full focus is on Sarpsborg, he said then.
IFK Göteborg is last in the Allsvenskan after having collected one point in five games.
