The first satisfaction of the evening was to see the public again in the stands, nearly 8,000 supporters having come to encourage their team. They were not disappointed. Because if OL are not the most active club on the transfer market at the start of the transfer window, the team now led by Peter Bosz has shown a very pretty face.
The first confrontation of the evening quickly turned in favor of a very rejuvenated Lyonnais, with a goal from Islam Slimani (captain for the occasion) from the 15th minute, before Diomande made the break before the break (37th). Same scenario against Wolfsburg in the wake with a goal from Karl Toko Ekambi in the 7th minute, then another from Dembélé shortly before the half hour mark. In the second half, while Wolfsburg had reduced the mark in the wake of the second Lyon goal, Toko Ekambi offered himself a brace (55th), before the young Eli Wissa completed the score at the end of the match (82nd).
Note that during these two matches Peter Bosz made significant rotations in the last quarter of an hour, thus giving playing time to the young players of his workforce.
