Oktoberfest begins — secure tickets for the festival tent

by Marketing on 08.08.2024

From 13 to 16 September it will be “O’zapft is” again on the “Sülzwies’n” at the 37th Oktoberfest in Lüneburg

It’s going to be a real event again: Lüneburg is traditionally celebrating the Oktoberfest and the fairground atmosphere, rides and culinary delights on the 800 m long festival mile will make visitors’ hearts beat faster. It all starts on Friday, September 13th at 2 p.m. on the Sülzwiesen. The festival will be officially opened by Mayor Claudia Kalisch at 5 p.m. with the traditional tapping of the keg: then it will be “O’zapft is” at the Lüneburger Sülzwies`n.

For the 37th time, one of the most popular Oktoberfests in northern Germany is bringing Bavarian fun to the salt city – you don’t have to travel to Munich for a decent measure of freshly tapped beer, pretzels and white sausages. A highlight at the “Sülzwies’n” is the huge Bavaria tent with space for 2,500 Wies’n visitors. Here you can enjoy delicious dishes fresh from the grill, of course crispy knuckles and a decent measure of original Bavarian Löwenbräu festival beer. In addition, the daily top-class program with live music ensures a genuine Bavarian atmosphere and many surprises.

A total of around 55 showmen’s businesses are represented, including Break-Dancers, Music Express, Air Power, Bumper Cars, Hurricane, a walk-through ride for children and adults and other exciting rides. There are many sweet and hearty stalls to cater for your physical well-being.
The popular Lünepost Happy Hour takes place on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Chips can be purchased at the major stores for half price. These chips remain valid every day.

The festival grounds are open Friday to Sunday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Monday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., each with an hour’s exit time.

Fireworks lovers can look forward to Friday evening: on September 13th at 9.45 p.m. (until 10 p.m.) the brilliant fireworks display will light up the Lüneburg night sky in bright colors.

The festival tent opens its doors on Friday from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., on Sunday from 12 p.m. for morning pints until midnight, and on Monday from 3 p.m. to midnight. Entry to the festival tent is free on all days. Table reservations in the festival tent can be made through the Lüneburg Showmen’s Association, by email to [email protected] or by WhatsApp on 01517-4537710.
