Oktagon 42 lost the match: New opponent for Čep?

#Vlasto Čepo and Matěj Peňáz were supposed to meet each other for the first time in 2020 in the super final of the Oktagon Underground pyramid in the category up to 90 kilograms. Since then, there have been constant mentions of their match under MMA rules, but each time one side withdrew from it due to injury. The same case occurred two months before the Oktagon 42 tournament in Bratislava, the main match of which was supposed to be the Čepo vs. Money. However, the Czech fighter badly broke his arm and Vlasto Čepo will most likely play against another opponent.

A match that will never happen?

The fight between two elite defenders has a certain similarity with the rematch between Karlos Vémola and Patrik Kincl. Both fights have been hanging in the air on our scene for years, they are supposed to take place in the middleweight division, and even though it is often mentioned by both sides, every time there is a reason for it not to take place. Unfortunately, in this case it is again the injury of Matěj Peňáz, which also canceled their super final in Undeground and crowned Vlasta Čepa unofficial champion.

Even when it seemed that the Čepo vs. Money will not stand in the way, the former elite kickboxer of the Glory organization has published an X-ray photo of his broken hand. Peñaz will undergo an operation and a break of several months, after which another attempt to make a match with Vlast can be expected.

For the Slovak fighter who grew up in Serbia, an opportunity for a new opponent will arise. Most likely, however, Vlasto will lose the opportunity to be in the main match of the evening. Considering that the former featherweight champion Ivan Buchinger is also announced for Oktagon 42 in Bratislava, it can be expected that the main star of the evening will be the native of Gabčíkov.
