OKT also deleted from water polosters due to coronavirus | NOW

The Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OKT) of the water polosters has been canceled for the time being. That is what the global swimming association FINA decided on Wednesday because of the corona virus.

The tournament was to be held from 8 to 15 March in Trieste, but that city is located in an area where people are infected with the COVID-19 virus.

The FINA has therefore decided to postpone the tournament until further notice. A new date or location has not yet been found.

The team of national coach Arno Havenga would play in Trieste against host country Italy, France, Slovakia and a yet to be determined country from Asia. A place in the final was enough to go to Tokyo.

The OKT of the men will continue for the time being. That tournament will be played in Rotterdam from 22 to 29 March. The Netherlands is in the group with Russia, Germany, Croatia, Argentina and a country from Asia or Romania. Three tickets are at stake in Rotterdam.

Earlier on Wednesday, the World Cup short track was already drawn, which was to be held in the South Korean capital Seoul from 13 to 15 March. Due to the virus, the ice rink must remain closed for the time being.
