Celebrating Kazakh Culture: A Festive Day in Mangistau
In a vibrant celebration of Kazakh heritage, residents of the Mangistau district came together to mark Kazakhstan’s Independence Day. The festive event, spearheaded by Oksana Belonozhkina, a former government official and founder of the region’s first Kazakh language club, aimed to immerse participants in the beauty of Kazakh traditions, language, and culture.
The day was filled with a diverse array of engaging activities designed to entertain and educate. Attendees put their knowledge to the test in a spirited quiz competition, delighting organizers with their enthusiasm and expertise.
“Of course, events like this need to be held more often. First of all, they contribute to the development of the Kazakh language, strengthen relations between people, preserve national identitiy. This is an important contribution to preserving the rich heritage we are all proud of," Belonozhkina said, emphasizing the significance of such cultural events.
Melodious Kazakh songs filled the air as the popular ensemble "Chervona Kalina" entranced the audience with their performance. Later, a thought-provoking questionnaire challenged participants with questions encompassing Kazakh culture, history, language, and traditions.
The festivities embraced the joy of Kazakh folklore with a performance of traditional songs and dances. Guests were even invited to join in the lively "Kara Zhorga" dance, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
