Nigerian legend Austin Jay Jay Okocha saluted Senegal’s Teranga Lions for their ‘heart’.
According to Okocha, Aliou Cissé’s side are fearless and believe they can beat any team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Senegal qualified for the round of 16 of the World Cup on Tuesday night after beating Ecuador 2-1. The AFCON champions will face England in the round of 16 this weekend.
Speaking to SuperSport, Okocha said: “One good thing the Senegalese team has had for years is heart. They are fearless and believe they can beat anyone.
“Also, the character of their manager has been passed on to this team. I was able to play with him, he wasn’t the brightest of players, but he had heart.
“You can see in this Senegalese team that what is successful for them now is team spirit, because they lack crucial individual players like [Sadio] Mane, second in the Ballon d’Or. »
