On June 5, police officers from Oklahoma City, in the United States, were called by the employees of a supermarket. The latter had heard barking in the back of an abandoned truck.
After cutting the padlock that locked the trunk of the vehicle, the agents made a horrible discovery: 36 dogs locked in small cages, dehydrated. In the truck, the temperature was above 43C°.

The police managed to free the hairballs and gave them water. The dogs were then taken into the care of animal protection services. An investigation has led to the arrest of two people, who will soon face 36 counts of animal cruelty.
Despite the rescue, one dog died of heat stroke. The other 35 survived.
