ÖIS men won the qualifying match 2:2 at home at Gamla Ullevi with 1-0 and thus secures a place in Superettan 2024.
The away team took the baton and played physically in the beginning of the match, but without creating any dangerous scoring chances.
Instead, it was ÖIS who would create the match’s first dangerous scoring chance – which also resulted in a 1-0 lead after barely 20 minutes. Linus Tagesson found a pass from the right wing to an onrushing Viktor Lundberg who shot the ball clinically into the goal.
With the goal, ÖIS stepped up and had bids for further goals, but 1-0 stood at the break, which meant 2-0 overall in the qualifiers with a remaining half.
In the final act, the away team had to force, but rarely succeeded in getting anything that worried the ÖIS defense. Instead, it was a home team that could lie low and take advantage of Nordic United’s loss of the ball.
ÖIS lined up a lot with high-quality goal chances, but the efficiency tired and the match therefore ended 1-0. A result that is gratifying in that ÖIS secures a place in the Superettan in 2024!
